The complete collection of Sibelius symphonies. Symphonies Nos. 6 and 7 are characterized by beautiful string melodies and Sibelius' unique harmony. The expressive and transparent string ensemble, a specialty of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, creates galloping sound waves with perfect harmony. The heroic and flamboyant brass in the Suite "Karelia" contrasts sharply with the previous two symphonies and is a delight to listen to. The beautiful and fragile "Sad Waltz" is a complete contrast to the previous two symphonies.
