Continental's Mountain King Performance tires are the perfect trail riding partner for a wide range of terrain. With a snappy central knob and tall grippy outer knob, the Mountain King has no brakes and no corners for traction in dry, mixed, loose or wet conditions. Although it uses a lower-volume case than Continental's other aggressive trail tires, the Mountain King's tread pattern rose a bit when the trail was wet. Trail King Performance uses a compound called PureGrip. This is a step below Black Chili's compound, yet lasts longer when grip and rolling speed are involved. This preserves the wear life of the original rubber. This 3-layer case and honeycomb sidewall design uses stacked layers of harsh protection for upper tires, and the dense 3-layer case and honeycomb sidewall design helps protect against punctures and slips from angled rocks. It's perfect. Of course, being tubeless allows for lower tire pressures, allowing for more traction and smoother damping. There's also peace of mind from a self-sealing tubeless system.
