The Big Multi Use Tote is a larger version of our original M.U.T. bag. We designed it to work with over-sized cargo cages and have used them successfully with any and all of them.  They also work well strapped under a saddle and just about anywhere you can strap it, we've even strapped them onto the front of handlebars with success. 

Constructed from 10.10 oz waxed canvas and tough diamond ripstop lining for extra durability. An insulated layer of foam wraps around the entire bag to protect your load. A pocket is situated on the bottom of the bag to slide over the cage. Two bar-tacked nylon webbing strips run down the front to give adjustability for mounting to various cages.

FAQ's 

What cage(s) do you recommend?

Most fork cages would work. Something 7" or taller is best.

We have used the Widefoot CargoMount Classic, King Cage Manythings Cage, Blackburn and Salsa cages, and they all work great. 

Are these bags waterproof? 

In a word, no, but our waxed canvas is impregnated with a heavy water repellent finish. And with it's tight weave, paired with the bag's waterproof Diamond Ripstop lining we have full confidence hauling our water sensitive camera gear around in the rains of the Pacific Northwest.  That said, if you plan to float your fully loaded fat bike across the slough, we'd bundle those sensitive bits in something air tight.

"Our commercial water repellent finish provides a supple hand with water repellency. No environmentally damaging fluoropolymers or formaldehyde. The water repellent is not surface applied, instead the fabric is completely impregnated with our proprietary finish.

"These goods are generally mercerized and dyed with reactive dyes for the very best dye penetration, intensity and brightness of color with virtually no observable crocking, bleeding, etc. We do not believe anyone else in our market is doing this type of
work or has the technical capability to process to these levels of quality which exceed the market/customers’ demands."

Can I rewax?

Yes, we recommend either Martexin wax or Otter Wax, but there are other options.  Also, hit up the Google with 'How to rewax waxed canvas' and there are tutorials on how to do it; wax and heat is the gist of it.  Not too difficult and it brings that lustre finish back.
