The RGC-83 GM Cannon II is a mid-range artillery Mobile Suit developed by the Earth Federation in the closing chapters of the One Year War. Based on the RX-77D Guncannon Mass Production Type, the RGC-83 GM Cannon II utilizes a similar backpack-mounted weapon system that folds over the Mobile Suit’s shoulders. The RGC-83 GM Cannon II benefits from several improvements, most notably employing a new generator capable of feeding its high-output beam weaponry. The RGC-83 GM Cannon II also utilizes a Chobam Armor System based on the data gathered by the RX-78NT-1 Gundam Alex. Most of the internals used to build the RGC-83 GM Cannon II come from other GM production models, easing the costs of mass production and long-term maintenance.
