Bowmore 12 years old is a beloved Islay whisky known for its moderate peatiness. It was a worthy contender in our blind tasting for Whisky of the Year 2014-15, impressing with its high quality and reasonable price point. The whisky is crafted by blending together ex-Bourbon and Sherry cask-aged expressions, resulting in a harmonious combination of Islay smokiness and delicate floral, fruit, and spice notes. The distillery is located in Bowmore, a town situated on the southern shore of Loch Indaal, a large bay on the west coast of the Isle of Islay, directly across from Bruichladdich in the north.
